Eagles Rally to Take Series with 8-2 Win Over Grandville

By Nicholas Huizenga | Apr 24, 2026 7:46 AM

After dropping the first game of the series, Hudsonville JV Baseball responded by bouncing back and finishing strong. The Eagles picked up an 8-2 win over Grandville to take the series 2-1, putting together a well-rounded performance from start to finish. Hudsonville’s bats were hot all game long, with contributions coming from just about everyone in the lineup. Luke Caminiti, Aiden Straus, Jack Arens, and Brycen West each added a hit, while Luke Uhlig, Graham Rosema, and Luke Pennington all collected two hits apiece. The Eagles stayed consistent at the plate, putting pressure on Grandville inning after inning. Straus and Rosema led the charge offensively. Straus drove in three runs, and Rosema matched him with three RBIs of his own. Uhlig added another RBI, and Kaden Condon chipped in one as well to round out the scoring. On the mound, Rosema was in control. He went five innings, allowing zero earned runs and striking out five. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, but he worked out of a few tough spots and kept Grandville from breaking through when it mattered. Carson Weemhoff came in for the final two innings and did his job, striking out two and helping close things out. The Eagles also made things happen on the bases. Kenten Poll stood out with aggressive base running, and Hudsonville did a great job taking advantage of a few Grandville mistakes to create extra opportunities. All around, it was a solid team win and a great response after being down in the series. Hudsonville will look to keep things rolling as they head into a Friday doubleheader against Unity Christian.
