By Nicholas Huizenga | May 4, 2026 7:36 AM

Hudsonville JV Baseball put together a strong all-around day and came away with a doubleheader sweep, defeating their opponent 10–0 in game one and 8–0 in game two. The Eagles were sharp in every phase, combining dominant pitching, timely hitting, and clean defense throughout both contests. In the opener, Hudsonville’s offense got rolling early and never looked back, piling up 12 hits in the 10–0 win. Aiden Straus had a huge game at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in four runs to lead the way offensively. Kayden Rodriguez added two hits, while Carson Weemhoff and Micah McPhaul each chipped in with two of their own. Brady Miller, James Brock, and Skyler Slotman also recorded hits in the win. Brock drove in two runs, Weemhoff added one RBI, and McPhaul knocked in two as the Eagles got production throughout the lineup. On the mound, McPhaul threw four scoreless innings to start the game, and Straus followed with two shutout innings in relief to complete the combined shutout. Hudsonville carried that momentum right into game two, where they earned another convincing win, 8–0. The Eagles were dominant on the mound once again, allowing just one hit the entire game and never letting their opponent generate much offense. At the plate, Hudsonville stayed aggressive and continued to produce from top to bottom in the order. Micah McPhaul, Carson Weemhoff, and Kaden Condon each had two hits, while Luke Uhlig, Jack Arens, Anderson Visser, Luke Pennington, and Brycen West all added one. Arens delivered the big blow offensively with three RBIs, while McPhaul, West, and Condon also drove in runs. Hudsonville also played fundamentally sound baseball all day, taking care of the ball defensively and making the routine plays behind their pitchers. Overall, it was a complete team effort for the Eagles, who controlled both games from start to finish and showed the kind of balanced baseball that can make them tough to beat.
